About the role
The ASSEMBLER II position at Savaria is responsible for assembling, gluing, cutting, printing, folding, pressing, inflating, sealing, labeling, and packing foam products. This role requires meeting or exceeding productivity goals, operating machinery correctly, verifying product quality, and maintaining a clean work area.
Responsibilities
- Assemble, glue, cut, print, fold, press, inflate, seal, label, and pack foam products
- Verify product quality and conformance to standards
- Locate and organize raw materials for production
- Minimize scrap through proper material handling
- Correctly set up and operate production machinery
- Perform more complex job functions on the production floor
- Notify supervisors or maintenance of machinery issues
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Support Quality Policy and Quality System
- Propose changes to procedures through supervision
- Follow safety rules and report unsafe practices
- Participate in quarterly inventory as assigned
- Perform basic computer functions
Requirements
- Lift up to 50 pounds frequently, with proper lifting techniques
- Stand for long periods, bend, climb, crawl, crouch, kneel, twist, push/pull, reach, squat, and overhead lift
- Work in manufacturing areas and use personal protective equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred
Skills
- Basic understanding of lean manufacturing procedures and 5S
- Ability to accurately complete and maintain paperwork
- Knowledge of UDI printing and label changing
- Ability to troubleshoot production machinery
- Full cross-training in 2-3 jobs within the mattress department

Pay
The pay for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The schedule for this position is typically Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.
