About the role

The Assembler I constructs and frames truss, wall, or floor components, or assembles finished products according to customer specifications. This role ensures all required parts, materials, and supplies are accurately obtained, secured, and maintained to support efficient workflow. The Assembler I performs routine quality control checks, verifies measurement accuracy, proper assembly techniques, and compliance with production standards, identifies defects, and contributes to maintaining a safe and clean manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete work area setup
  • Fit parts together following prescribed instructions and quality standards
  • Operate hand tools such as hammers, miter saws, reciprocating saws, nail guns, and tape measures
  • Stack completed products according to established procedures, including covering, labeling, and banding components if required
  • Ensure the work area is safe, clean, and organized, and equipment is safe to operate
  • Complete pre-shift equipment inspection checklists, report problems or concerns, and perform end-of-shift cleanup
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
  • Check materials and finished products for compliance with standards
  • Make necessary corrections to finished products found out of compliance
  • Perform duties consistent with established safety and quality procedures, rules, and standards
  • Participate in safety, continuous improvement (CI), and other programs and meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
  • No minimum experience required; however, 6 months of manufacturing and assembling experience is preferred
  • Working knowledge of basic math
  • Ability to use a hammer for extended periods with good hand-eye coordination and proper technique to prevent strain or injury
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to tolerate daily exposure to hot and cold weather (majority of work is performed under cover)
  • Ability to safely and repeatedly lift lumber during normal work tasks
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
