Responsibilities
- Prepares work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts list.
- Gathers parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Positions, parts, and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
- Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
- Solves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications, notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: High School Diploma.
- Experience: 2+ years of warehouse experience (Inventory or Assembly).
- Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure (using whole numbers and decimals), ability to speak and read English, MRP experience is a plus.
- Personal Attributes: Basic attention to detail when working with numbers and inventory, ability to follow instructions and work in a structured warehouse environment.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for extended periods (up to 8–12 hours per shift).
- Frequent use of hands for assembling small to medium-sized components, including gripping, and handling.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 25–50 lbs., with or without assistance.
- Repetitive motions involving hands, wrists, and arms throughout the shift.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach overhead as needed.
- Visual acuity to inspect parts, read instructions, and identify defects.
- Ability to safely operate basic hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment.
- Fast-paced manufacturing or production floor environment.
- Exposure to moderate noise levels; hearing protection may be required in certain areas.
- Work may involve exposure to dust, fumes, or varying temperatures depending on the facility.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toe boots.
- Work performed in close proximity to machinery and moving equipment.
- Adherence to strict safety, quality, and production standards.
- May require working overtime, weekends, or flexible shifts based on production needs.
