Asphalt Roller Operator - Paving - Richmond

About the role

Branscome is seeking an Asphalt Roller Operator to join our Paving Department in Richmond. The successful candidate will operate a self-propelled roller to compact hot mix asphalt.

Responsibilities

- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures. - Ride on the platform of the machine and control its movement using levers, pedals, or throttles. - Perform daily checks on equipment, including hydraulic fluid levels, greasing, and oil levels. - Use hand tools such as a hand shovel, wrench, and screwdriver as needed. - Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

- High School Diploma preferred. - Previous heavy highway construction experience preferred. - Knowledge of compacting procedures for different asphalt mixes.

Physical Demands

- Stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, reaching, and squatting are required. - May stand or walk for extended periods. - Able to lift up to 50 lbs. - Exposure to extreme temperatures. - Overtime work may be required. - Valid Driver's License required.
