About the role
The Asphalt Raker position at Sunland Asphalt & Construction, LLC., located in Denver, Colorado, is a full-time role with occasional evening and weekend work. Responsibilities
- Work with rakes to level asphalt mix as it leaves the paving screed.
- Meet production goals as directed by the Foreman, Superintendent, or Production Manager.
- Follow safety policies and procedures, participate in safety meetings, and enforce safe work practices.
- Communicate with operators, truck drivers, and laborers, inspect, clean, and maintain equipment, and report malfunctions.
- Set up and tear down equipment, coordinate with contractors, and serve as a front-line Company representative.
- Perform general laborer tasks as needed.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- A current driver’s license.
- A clean motor-vehicle record if operating a Company vehicle.
Qualifications
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check.
Skills
Strong communication skills, ability to work independently, and proficiency in using equipment such as rakes, shovels, wheel barrels, etc.
