Asphalt Plant All-Round Equipment Operator

About the role

C.R. Jackson is looking for an experienced and dependable Asphalt Plant All-Round Equipment Operator to join our team. This position supports the day-to-day operation of an asphalt plant by operating multiple types of heavy equipment, handling materials, maintaining stockpile areas, and assisting with general plant operations. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, comfortable working around heavy equipment and an active asphalt plant, and willing to take on a variety of responsibilities to help keep the plant operating safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate various types of heavy equipment used around an asphalt plant.
• Operate equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers, dozers, excavators, and other equipment as assigned.
• Load aggregate and other materials into plant feed systems.
• Move, organize, and maintain aggregate stockpiles.
• Load trucks and move materials throughout the plant site as needed.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain clean and organized equipment, work areas, roadways, and plant grounds.
• Assist plant personnel with general plant operations, maintenance, and cleanup as needed.
• Monitor surrounding personnel, equipment, and vehicle traffic while operating machinery.
• Follow all company safety procedures and plant operating requirements.
• Work effectively with plant operators, truck drivers, maintenance personnel, and other team members.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support plant production and operations.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating heavy equipment is required.
• Experience working at an asphalt plant, aggregate operation, construction site, or similar industrial environment is a plus.
• Ability to safely operate multiple types of equipment and adapt to changing plant needs.
• Ability to perform routine equipment inspections and identify potential mechanical or safety concerns.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around heat, dust, noise, and heavy equipment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime when required by production.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record is required.
