Job Summary
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform all testing in lab and on site as required for municipal, INDOT and KYTC Projects.
- Design all private, INDOT and KYTC mixes in house for maximum cost effectiveness and quality.
- Explore newer technologies for cost savings.
- Full Volumetric Testing.
- Design new asphalt mixes to increase efficiencies.
- Working with State Inspectors, Public Works Inspectors, State Engineers, and District Engineers.
- Upload JMF to State entities and have experience working with AMAW’s.
- Understand how to run/teach PQI operations.
- Daily/weekly quality control of mixes to ensure/confirm mixes produced are within spec.
- Daily/weekly cost control of mixes to ensure /confirm mixes are being produced as cost effectively as possible while maintaining quality and workability for crews (Moistures, gradations, extractions, etc.).
- Proactively obtain feedback from asphalt paving crews on a regular basis and report back to GM.
- Working as a Team Member with asphalt plant team members.
- Keep an open line of communication with parent company, Libs Paving.
- Assist with other Asphalt Plant operations, as necessary.
Qualifications, Education And Physical Demands
- Five-year minimum Quality Lab Experience in Hot Asphalt Mixture.
- Mix Design certification preferred.
- Must obtain and maintain INDOT and KYTC lab certifications.
- Must be proficient in basic math.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.
- Must be dependable with good to excellent attendance and punctuality.
- Construction industry experience knowledge or training required.
- Must be able to withstand various climate conditions including extreme heat and humidity.
- Must have excellent communication and listening skills.
