Asphalt Field Inspector
About the role
The Asphalt Field Inspector supports the Building and Construction business by performing field inspections of asphalt plant produced materials to ensure compliance with project specifications on various job sites within the NY/NJ, Tri- State area. This position involves minimal paperwork and requires travel at least 15% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Collect samples of asphalt materials
- Perform a variety of tests on concrete/asphalt using materials-testing equipment
- Read construction documents to determine project details and specifications
- Neatly and accurately complete all required paperwork, including daily reports, test reports, and timesheets in a timely manner
- Record and report test results after performing mathematical calculations, making graphical solutions, and graphical representations
- Communicate orally and in writing with engineers, staff members, agency representatives, contractors, and business and property owners
- Perform maintenance and cleaning of equipment and calibration and adjustments as needed
- Adhere to construction site safety guidelines and promote a safe working environment
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- NICET Level II certification
- Asphalt Comfortable
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Punctual, reliable with good attention to detail
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, crawl, push, pull, stretch, sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time
- Valid Drivers License and reliable driving record required (personal car)

Pay
The base wage or salary range for this position is $24 - $35 per hour.

Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm

The Building & Construction team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services and building science solutions to deliver Total Quality Assurance to the built environment. The team offers the architectural, engineering and construction (A/E/C) industry with a full suite of capabilities both in the lab and on site.
