Asphalt Distributor Trainee- Andalusia, AL

About the role

This position requires a CDL license, preferably with Tanker endorsement, and will operate the Asphalt Distributor on road construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Operate an Asphalt Distributor Truck on road construction projects.
• Set spray bar on manual, automatic, or semi-automatic distributors for applying liquid asphalt.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oiling, greasing, and making normal operating adjustments to equipment.
• Maintain the efficient working condition of the equipment, perform minor servicing and maintenance, or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Perform related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, adding or removing screed extensions.
• Pass DOT physical and drug screen.

Requirements

• Current CDL license, preferably with Tanker endorsement.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above shoulders.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move 10 to 30 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
