About the role
This role involves performing ASME code welding on pressure vessels, piping, and structural components. It requires experience welding pressure vessels or pipe (FCAW required), and includes responsibilities such as reading and interpreting engineering drawings, completing weld logs and quality documentation, and inspecting and repairing welds.
Responsibilities
- Perform ASME code welding on pressure vessels, piping, and structural components
- Work with carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel-based alloys
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and weld procedures
- Complete ASME weld logs and quality documentation
- Pass non-destructive testing (NDT) for pressure-retaining welds
- Use overhead cranes, jib cranes, and forklifts safely
- Inspect and repair welds to meet code and quality standards
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience welding pressure vessels or pipe (FCAW required)
- High school diploma or trade school certification (welding preferred)
- Ability to pass on-site weld qualification testing
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and documentation
Qualifications
- Rotating shift operation (details reviewed during the screening process)
- Overtime opportunities as business needs require
Skills
- ASME code welding experience
- Experience with FCAW, GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, and SAW
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Knowledge of ASME Section IX procedures
- Attention to safety, quality, and documentation
Pay, Benefits & Schedule
- $29.79/hr. starting pay with structured wage progression
- Shift Differential: Additional $3.00 per hour for qualifying shifts
- $1,000 new-hire retention bonus
- $500 at hire
- $500 after 9 months of successful employment
