About the role

The Department of Asian American Studies at California State University, Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available.

Responsibilities

  • Teach in the following subject areas: Introduction to Ethnic Studies, Introduction to Asian Pacific American Studies, History of Asian Pacific Americans, Asian Pacific American Cultural Studies, Asian American Film and Video, Asian American Women, Ideas, Imagination and Intersections in Ethnic Studies/ Asian American Studies, Community, Liberation and Action in Ethnic Studies/ Asian American Studies, Vietnamese Communities in the US, Multiple Heritage Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, South Asian American Experiences, Korean American Experiences, World War II Japanese American Evacuation, Civic Engagement Through Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies, Survey of American History with Emphasis on Ethnic Minorities.

Requirements

Qualified applicants will have:

  • An ABD doctoral candidate or Master’s degree with substantial graduate course work in Asian American Studies, ethnic studies, or related fields.
  • Expertise in fields relevant to the Department of Asian American Studies curriculum.
  • Evidence of prior relevant teaching, mentoring, or tutoring experience.
  • Experience in relevant academic field or relevant professional/community-based experience.
  • Demonstrate ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with diverse populations and fostering a collaborative, supportive and inclusive environment.
