ASC Registered Nurse - OR/ARD (Peoria)

About the role

The Registered Nurse - ASC OR/ARD provides professional nursing care to surgical or endoscopic patients, focusing on total patient-centered care through the nursing process.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and instruct them on changing into appropriate attire.
• Complete pre-operative assessments, document findings, and administer pre-operative orders.
• Teach patients and significant others about their care plan.
• Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Assess and monitor patients during Phase I Recovery, completing relevant records and administering medications as needed.
• Prepare and restock recovery carts as necessary.
• Transfer patients to Phase II Recovery when they are sufficiently recovered from anesthesia.
• Monitor and assist patients during Phase II Recovery, administering medications as ordered.
• Complete discharge paperwork and provide patient education materials.
• Ensure the facility is maintained in a neat and orderly manner.
• Restock supplies daily and check equipment such as crash carts and defibrillators.
• Make post-operative phone calls as needed.
• Comply with Springfield Clinic's incident reporting policy and adhere to OSHA and clinic training requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service and follow Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Three to five (3-5) years of comparable nursing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensure as an RN in the State of Illinois.
• PALS certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within six months of employment.
• ACLS certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within six months of employment.
• CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire.
