Responsibilities
- Maintain the confidentiality of medical information.
- Responsible for chart and surgery schedules reviews.
- Facilitates an efficient, clinically effective interface between the patient and the health care team to ensure quality, customer focused preadmission testing processes prior to surgery.
- Provides patient assessment, education, and the development of a plan of care.
- Functions as a liaison between all members of the health care team internally and externally to ensure coordination of quality patient care.
- Interviews, receives, instructs, reassures, and comforts patients.
- Explains treatment procedures, medications, and physician's instructions to patients and caregiver(s).
- Constantly communicates with the patients regarding their surgeries.
Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Rhode Island.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in healthcare setting.
- Clinical skills, documentation skills, and excellent communication skills.
- Computer skill proficiency in EHR, Microsoft word, and outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including telephone etiquette.
- Motivated individual with a team approach.
- Must be able to travel to all sites if/when necessary.
