Essential Job Duties
- Ensure full compliance with California licensed Early Childhood regulations and uphold Waldorf pedagogy.
- Be on site during all ASC operating hours; secure campus at end of day.
- Lead ASC meetings and chair the ASC Committee; collaborate with Faculty for evaluations and mentoring.
- Maintain FACTS sign in and out and understand the system.
- Maintain staffing schedules, child counts, and licensing ratios for Grades and EC ASC.
- Hire, train, supervise, and mentor ASC staff; provide ongoing coaching and performance tracking.
- Maintain clear communication with employees, parents, and teachers; manage ASC parent communication and drop-in billing.
- Support Waldorf educational principles and participate in Faculty meetings, mentoring, and professional development.
- Manage ASC supplies, snack budget, and staff timecards; delegate tasks appropriately.
- Maintain a warm, safe, orderly environment aligned with Waldorf values.
Qualifications
- Strong communication, organization, leadership, and initiative.
- Ability to maintain program rhythm and uphold safety protocols.
- Familiarity with safe food handling.
- Must pass FBI, CA DOJ, and Child Abuse Index clearances.
- Professionalism- including the ability to keep adult conversations away from the children and personal phones put away while working
- Ability to work as part of a team and take direction with flexibility
- Ability to work independently with children and with groups of children
Desired
- Waldorf EC or Lifeways training
- ASC experience
- Anthroposophy background
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Experience training staff
Physical Requirements
- Ability to supervise children indoors/outdoors;
- Frequent standing, walking, bending;
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs;
- Exposure to noise and outdoor conditions.
Employment Details
- School-year position (mid August–mid June), approx. 29 hrs/week, 12:00–5:45 daily.
- Compensation: $22–$27/hour; possible 50% tuition remission.
