Arts & Enrichment Line Dance Instructor I - II

About the role

This is an ongoing recruitment process, with no specific closing date. We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis.

Responsibilities

• Teach art and enrichment classes for all ages in both group and individual settings.
• Teach specialized arts, enrichment classes, birthday parties and special events offsite.
• Primarily teach line dance classes and possibly other classes based on individual expertise.
• Teach classes at multiple South Suburban locations and be able to reliably commute to those locations for class.
• Teach classes on weekdays with potential to expand to evenings and weekends.

Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have at least one (1) year of teaching experience in line dance.
• Experience teaching art and/or enrichment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within thirty (30) days of employment.
• Must be insurable by the District carrier at the onset and for the duration of employment.

Skills

• Knowledge of teaching and learning techniques and methodologies.
• Knowledgeable of positive interaction techniques with children, students and their parents, adult and senior students, and staff.
• Able to communicate verbally with both children and adults.
• Able to work with students in a constructive and caring manner while creating unique and fun experiences and teaching safety in the classroom.
• Able to handle multiple tasks and conflicting priorities.
• Able to communicate effectively via the telephone, email, and through face-to-face communication.
