Art History, Part-Time Faculty Pool

About the role

Chaffey College is seeking applicants for the adjunct faculty pool in the Art Department. All applicants are expected to meet the California State Community College Minimum Qualifications for Art instructors (below).

Responsibilities

• Teach courses including ARTH 3 - Survey of Western Art from Prehistory through the Middle Ages, ARTH 5 - Survey of Western Art from Renaissance to Contemporary, ARTH 7 - Arts of Africa, Oceania, and Indigenous North America, ARTH 9 - Art of the Ancient Americas, ARTH 11 - Survey Asian Arts, and ARTH 19 - Contemporary Art: 1945-Present.

Requirements

• Master's in art history, history of art and architecture; OR Master's in art with a recorded emphasis or concentration in art history; OR Valid lifetime credential that authorizes service as an art history instructor in a California Community College; OR Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds in a community college environment.

Qualifications

• Broad and deep relevant education, experience, skills, knowledge, and abilities.
• Community college teaching experience.
• Degree concentration, teaching experience, and/or research in one of the course areas.
• Ability to teach in-person on the Rancho Cucamonga campus.

Compensation

Part-time faculty compensation is commensurate with education and District teaching experience according to the lecture, lab, or non-instructional rate schedules.
