Primary Purpose Of Position
The NCCU Department of Art and Design has an immediate need for an adjunct in Studio Art (e.g.: Painting and Drawing).
Responsibilities
- Teach up to 3 courses within their areas of specialization, as listed above.
- Prepare students for careers in the field through in-person lecture and studio-based learning, critiques, and exposure to traditional and cutting-edge creative approaches.
- Teach Painting I: Painting and Color Theory (3 credit hours) on Monday/Wednesday from 5:00 pm – 7:45 pm.
- Teach Introduction to Art History (Art History for non-majors, 2 credit hours) on Tuesday/Thursday from 5:15 pm – 6:05 pm.
Requirements
- A master’s degree.
- Professional experience in Studio Art (e.g.: Painting and Drawing).
- A passion for teaching.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching at the college level is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills.
Skills
- Excellent teaching abilities.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Knowledge of contemporary art practices.
