About the role
The Adjunct Faculty plays a crucial role in teaching College Credit Courses. Responsibilities include developing and posting syllabi, preparing and delivering instruction, designing assignments and assessments, grading student work, and providing timely, constructive feedback.
Responsibilities
- Developing and posting course syllabi in accordance with the College’s requirements.
- Preparing for and delivering class, studio, clinical, or lab instruction.
- Using assigned instructional materials to plan and deliver instruction.
- Designing or modifying assignments, assessments, and other course materials.
- Grading student work and providing constructive feedback.
- Maintaining open communication with students, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Engaging in professional development opportunities.
- Validating textbooks, posting course syllabi, class/grade rosters, and submitting final student grades.
- Maintaining current with CANVAS usage as required by departmental guidelines.
- Responding to communication from students, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Meeting with students individually to review course work.
Qualifications
- A Master of Arts or Master of Fine Arts degree in Art or Fine Art OR a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credits in any combination of the following qualifying fields: Art, Art Education, Fine Art.
- Previous teaching experience is desired.
