About the Role
Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. The College is a dynamic learning organization that serves as a Germanna regional leader and preferred partner where quality learning experiences enable students to participate effectively in the social, economic, political, intellectual, and cultural life of their communities. Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. Full of history, the area offers a community rich with diversity, the arts, technology, vineyards, hiking, canoeing/kayaking and many other activities.
Responsibilities
- Teach ART 131, 132, and 180 primarily
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned
- May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor
Qualifications
- Depending on the course, positions may require: Master's Degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in teaching discipline; or a Bachelor's Degree with a major in teaching field with prior related occupational experience
- Official transcripts will be required prior to final offer
- Complete Growing with Canvas and TOPS 2.2 prior to teaching
- May be required to travel between different college locations
Additional Considerations
- Substantial teaching experience
- Work experience in the field
- Experience with on-line teaching
- Experience with or willingness to learn artificial intelligence tools
Pay
$836-$1,737 per credit hour. This wide salary range reflects the diverse faculty ranks within the Virginia Community College System (VCCS). Final salary determination and placement within this range are based on the candidate's academic credentials and occupational experience as evaluated via the VCCS-10 process.
Schedule
Hours will vary between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm depending on availability and scheduling needs. Teaching load is based upon student enrollment and staffing needs. The adjunct faculty appointment contains no guarantee of continued employment.
