ARRT (Per Diem)

About the Role

A Radiologic Technologist with expertise in diagnostic radiology, fluoroscopy, trauma radiology, portable radiology, and surgery is needed to maintain a safe radiological environment. This role involves providing imaging services and transportation to patients of all ages, from neonate to geriatric, while ensuring thorough communication and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide imaging services and patient transportation across all age groups.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families using I Care and AIDET principles.
• Uphold safety standards, JCAHO guidelines, and established protocols for assigned areas.
• Prioritize customer and patient satisfaction while collaborating with other departments and modalities.
• Practice radiation safety, dose reduction, and administer contrast/medications according to policy.
• Participate in quality control, equipment maintenance, and documentation.
• Instruct and supervise student technologists and new employees as assigned.
• Facilitate and coordinate services as a charge or lead technologist, serving as a contact for radiologists, physicians, and other departments.
• Monitor department needs and inform other shifts of protocol or equipment changes.
• For Per Diem staff: Work at least one holiday per calendar year and once every 90 days; provide two-week notice for resignation.
• Function proficiently in specified areas with minimal supervision.
• Maintain performance, compliance, and behavioral standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Use electronic systems for email, time and attendance, learning management, and intranet.
• Operate imaging and office equipment efficiently, including Synapse and Expanse software.
• Perform all other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Graduation from a JRCERT-approved school of radiologic technology.
• Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography or registry eligibility (registration required within one year of graduation).
• Proficiency in diagnostic radiology, fluoroscopy, trauma radiology, portable radiology, and surgery.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, and physics related to patient care.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
• Efficiency in using imaging and office equipment.
• Physical ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation, including normal or corrected hearing and vision.
• Physical presence onsite is essential.
