ARRT/CT

DCH Health System seeks a detail-oriented CT Technologist with enhanced expertise in computed tomography to maintain a safe imaging environment and deliver high-quality care to patients of all ages, from neonate to geriatric.

Responsibilities

• Provide imaging services and patient transportation across all age groups.
• Communicate thoroughly with patients and families, explaining procedures and ensuring understanding.
• Uphold all safety standards, including radiation safety and dose-reduction practices.
• Follow established protocols, JCAHO standards, and AIDET principles to prioritize patient satisfaction.
• Collaborate with other departments, modalities, and personnel to deliver above-average patient care.
• Use I Care principles for proper patient identification, correct exams, and improved communication.
• Practice good stewardship of supplies, equipment, and department resources to support financial viability.
• Understand clinical history, supply and exam charges, and follow billing practices.
• Correlate clinical history with exams performed.
• Administer contrast/medications according to policy and procedure.
• Maintain accreditation by performing necessary duties and participating in CT quality control.
• Complete documentation for all CT equipment and ensure proper care, cleaning, and maintenance of imaging, transport, and office supplies.
• Instruct and supervise student technologists and new employees as assigned.
• Rotate through work areas, shifts, and campuses where competency has been assessed, including call duties during off-hours.
• Serve as a charge or lead technologist when assigned, facilitating and coordinating services, and acting as a contact for radiologists, physicians, and other departments.
• Monitor department functions and keep other shifts informed of protocol changes or equipment issues.
• For Per Diem staff: Work at least one holiday per calendar year and once every 90 days; provide two-week notice of resignation.
• If applicable as a CT 3D Technologist:
  • Efficiently use workstation tools to develop diagnostic images.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to 3D imagery.
  • Understand the process for sending images to Synapse.
  • Process 3D exams proficiently with documented formal education or on-the-job training.
  • Be scheduled to process 3D exams on a regular rotating basis.
• Maintain performance, patient, and employee satisfaction standards as outlined in performance evaluations.
• Adhere to DCH Behavioral Standards, promoting positive relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and colleagues.
• Perform essential job functions safely, identifying and reducing risks to patients, visitors, and employees.
• Use electronic systems for email, time and attendance, learning management, and intranet.
• Operate imaging equipment, office tools, and related materials efficiently.
• Read, write, speak, and comprehend English proficiently.

Requirements

• Graduate of a JRCERT-approved school of radiologic technology.
• Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography or registry-eligible (registration required within one year of graduation).
• ARRT CT registry eligible or CT registration preferred; formal education or on-the-job training recommended.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, and physics as they pertain to CT patient care.
