Job Summary

The Radiological Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that require rational independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative in performing standard examinations in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. This position is for weekend coverage day shift.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates competency in radiation exposure and monitoring.
  • Demonstrates competency in ALAR and dose equivalent limits.
  • Demonstrates competency and knowledge of Radiation physics.
  • Demonstrates competency with critical behaviors and age specific care.
  • Demonstrates competency with appropriate method of patient identifiers. Two ID’s.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of proper radiation protection of patients and employees in accordance with ACR, NRC, and ARRT (time, distance, shielding).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of automatic exposure control (AEC).
  • Demonstrates knowledge of image processing and quality assurance.
  • Demonstrates knowledge for criteria for image evaluation.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of image distortion (magnification, OID, SID).

Requirements

  • Must have graduated from an accredited school of Radiological Technology with an Associates degree or equivalent.
  • BCLS required.
  • Must be A.R.R.T. (RT).
  • Must have Texas Medical Board license (TMB).
  • Clinical experience is preferred.
