Position Summary
Provides outpatient psychiatric services including, but not limited to, consultation, evaluation, medication management, and follow-up. Supports various clinical teams which could include clinicians, integrated mental health therapists, peer support specialists, collaborative care teams, primary care providers, allied support staff and others.
Responsibilities
- Provides psychiatric evaluations, medication management and follow-up for scheduled or standby patients
- Completes all required documentation within timeframes specified in the MultiCare Health System Ambulatory Electronic Health Record Completion policy
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and efforts toward meeting the needs of internal and external customers
- Attends and participates in team meetings and other agency meetings as requested
- Provides back-up coverage for absent medical staff as needed
- Provide regularly scheduled caseload consultation to Mental Health Therapist
- May supervise graduate medical students (nurse practitioner students, residents)
Requirements
- Mets state of Washington licensure requirements by the time of employment
- Advanced Reg Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority license - Washington Department of Health
- American Nurses Credentialing Center Board Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan) Certification (PMHNP-BC™) or if one of the following active certifications (available for renewal only) - Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification (PMHNP-BC) - Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification (PMHCNS-BC) - Child/Adolescent Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification (PMHCNS-BC)
- Current Health Care Provider level BLS certification such as American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Requires adherence to practice standards, agency standards, contracts, and Washington Administrative Codes

- Expert knowledge of psychotropic medications
