ARNP Mental Health\Psychiatric IP (NE)
Position Summary
The inpatient psychiatric ARNP is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and directing treatment for adult patients with psychiatric disorders admitted to acute inpatient level of care.
Conduct suicide and violence risk assessments
Formulate and implement comprehensive and evidence-based treatment plans
Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications
Order laboratory tests as indicated
Manage acute behavioral emergencies with behavioral and pharmacologic interventions
Lead treatment team meetings and coordinate activity of the interdisciplinary team, including primary care providers, social workers, RNs, and other team members
Consult with primary care providers and other clinicians to facilitate evaluation and treatment of medical conditions
Collaborate with Social Workers and Court Evaluators to assess readiness for discharge and formulate discharge plans
Document in the electronic medical record
Requirements
- A graduate degree from an advanced nursing education program accredited by a national nursing accreditation body recognized by the United States Department of Education.
- An active Washington state RN license, without sanctions or restrictions
- State NP license
- Current CME hours to maintain licensure
- Adult/Gerontologic Psychiatry and/or Lifespan Certification of Completion from the American Nurse Credentialing Center or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners
- Registration capability with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
- An active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
