About the role

As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will be responsible for the initial diagnostic evaluation, treatment plan, and progressive care of patients until they are stabilized for discharge to the recommended level of follow-up care.

Responsibilities

• Care for a maximum of 8-9 patients per day.
• Conduct up to two new intake evaluations and develop treatment plans for new patients daily; documentation will be attested by the medication director.
• Review all collateral information, communicate with families and outpatient teams, and finalize treatment plans within the first 24-48 hours for each patient.
• Facilitate 1-3 discharges per day for patients deemed appropriate, including voluntary discharge, discharge against medical advice, or administrative discharge, and communicate discharge status.
• Follow up on all remaining patients on your caseload each day and document progress updates.
• Communicate with families, caregivers, and outpatient teams at the start and throughout the treatment course until discharge.
• Place admission orders, review and correct evaluations, order baseline and follow-up laboratory work as needed, and follow up on reports while communicating with patients and families.
• Attend daily in-person team rounding meetings on the unit, Monday through Friday.
• Provide at least 1-2 nights of on-call coverage via pager, depending on the weekend schedule.
• Provide in-person 24-hour coverage on Saturdays and Sundays at least once every 5th week, with a caseload of up to 12-13 patients and the same expectations for admissions, progress follow-ups, and discharges as on weekdays.
• Collaborate with ancillary staff members involved in patient care, including nursing, social workers, and mental health technicians.
• Maintain all licensure requirements and update your Workday profile accordingly.
• Complete all annual mandatory trainings as directed by the system and report compliance to the Medical Director.
• Submit PTO requests at least 2-4 weeks in advance to the Medical Director for approval and formally request time off via UKG.

Requirements

• Certification as a Psychiatric ARNP/D-ARNP.
• Licensed in Washington state by the time of employment.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of clinical experience providing direct patient care.
• DEA, NPI, and prescriptive authority.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association.
• Valid Washington state motor vehicle license.

Pay

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental, and retirement benefits, and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for this position: $104.38 - $104.38 USD per hour. Pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale based on the applicant’s years of experience.

Schedule

• Shift: Weekend days.
• Hours: 08:00 - 16:00.
• On-call coverage: 1-2 nights per weekend via pager.
• In-person weekend coverage: 24-hour coverage on Saturdays and Sundays at least once every 5th week.
