We began as an investigations firm and have since expanded to provide uniform security, event staff security, loss prevention services, and more based on client needs. Responsibilities
- Guard posts at the entry/exit points of the local Air National Guard Base.
- Conduct foot and vehicle patrols of the interior and exterior of the grounds to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
- Check for employee, vendor, and visitor identifications.
- Look for suspicious persons, packages, and activities.
- Follow site-specific post guidelines.
- Document daily activities and report all incidents.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old and have at least a high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED), per MCL 338.106717.
- Must be at least 21 years old and hold a Michigan Concealed Pistol License (CPL) or LEOSA card to perform armed security work.
- Must not have been convicted of any felonies, per MCL 338.106010(1)(c).
- Must not have been convicted of any misdemeanors related to dishonesty, fraud, impersonation of law enforcement, assault, weapons, unauthorized sale of information or evidence, controlled substances (including for marijuana), or two or more alcohol-related offenses, per MCL 338.106010(1)(c).
- Must be able to pass a drug screening at the time of hire and randomly thereafter (including for marijuana).
- Must adhere to the company’s Uniform and Appearance policy and present a friendly, positive, and professional image.
- Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to de-escalate situations in a non-confrontational manner. Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must possess a valid State of Michigan driver’s license with a clean driving record: fewer than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years, fewer than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years, and no other major violations in the last 3 years.
- Must be willing to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified and capable of administering care in emergency situations.
- Must be able to pass a Physical Agility Test within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter. The PAT includes timed activities such as sprinting, sit-ups, push-ups, and a 1.5-mile run.
- Must be physically and mentally sound and able to remain alert while on duty. Armed security officers must complete a psychological evaluation upon hire.
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk long distances, including navigating stairs, for the duration of the shift (8–12 hours).
- Must be able to work indoors or outdoors during all seasons.
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to manipulate keys, tools, and other equipment.
- Must be able to hear conversations (in person or via 2-way radio) in noisy environments.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Must be able to work independently with little or no supervision.
Skills
- Valid Michigan Concealed Pistol License and driver’s license.
- Firearm and full duty belt provided at no cost.
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification (required after hire).
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.

Pay
$21.93 per hour.
Schedule
Full-time, rotating schedule, day shift (0640–1910) at the Air National Guard Base in Battle Creek, MI.
