About the role
As an Armed Security Officer - Public Transit Safety Rover in Los Angeles, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in transportation and related industries. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to emerging situations. This role involves providing outstanding customer service, communicating clearly with passengers and staff, and contributing to a reliable team that acts with integrity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at public transportation locations.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and emergency services as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, offices, and surrounding perimeters to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points, observe public areas for unusual conditions or behavior, and report security-related concerns in accordance with site procedures.
- Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation while maintaining a professional presence.
Requirements
- Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Baton certification is highly preferred—if selected, you will be required to obtain one before orientation.
- Handcuffing and OC Spray certification is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific and site-specific security training programs—failure to pass or complete required training may result in reassignment or removal.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$28.41 per hour
