As an Armed Security Officer at a higher education location, you will monitor and patrol campus areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond professionally to security-related concerns. You will engage respectfully with students, faculty, staff, and visitors while delivering exceptional customer service and clear communication.

What You'll Do
- Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, campus-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus personnel and emergency responders as needed.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access points and assist with access-control procedures, visitor interactions, and reporting of suspicious activity or policy violations.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrol activities, and observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
