What You'll Do

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, campus-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus personnel and emergency responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Monitor access points and assist with access-control procedures, visitor interactions, and reporting of suspicious activity or policy violations.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrol activities, and observations in accordance with Allied Universal and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Possess an armed guard card or license.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
