About the role

This position is part time with varied hours between 5:30 am and 6:30 pm Monday-Friday 8 hours shifts for a minimum of 20 hours a week.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for employees and the protection of property by patrolling the premises and actively monitoring personnel.
  • Guard against theft of company property while maintaining security of premises.
  • Prevent losses and damages by reporting irregularities, instructing violators of policy and procedures.
  • Call police, fire or EMS in cases of emergency; as needed as appropriate for emergencies (ex: trespasser, fire or injured person).
  • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances or events.
  • Patrol and monitor the premises to prevent and detect signs of unauthorized intrusion, theft or damage to or of company property.
  • Operate detection devices, such as metal detectors and X ray machines to screen individuals and property to prevent the passage of prohibited articles into and out of restricted areas.
  • Follow company and security policies and procedures.
  • Takes independent action within policies, seeks out new responsibilities, acts on opportunities, generates new ideas and practices self-development.
  • Projects professionalism, well groomed, works well in a team environment, and considerate of workplace surroundings, maintain workplace area clean, reports any safety or equipment issues and supports safety programs.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • 5+ years’ experience in law enforcement, military experience or certified armed security experience with ACTIVE CLEET license required.
  • Detailed observation skills and quick response in making corrective action within protocols.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong comprehensive report writing and analytical skills.
  • Fluctuating schedule readiness, as needed.
  • Active or retired state certified Peace Officer status.
  • Valid C.L.E.E.T. Armed Security License at time of application.

Qualifications

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook and demonstrate your retention ability to utilize any security and loss prevention software after training.
