Armed Security Officer - Part Time

Location: Austin, Texas

About the role

What matters most in a role like this is your ability to read the environment, anticipate risk, and act accordingly. As a Tactical Security Officer, physical ability is essential as you will be moving around your entire shift, patrolling environments such as retail stores, airports, detention centers, and more.

Responsibilities

• Patrol sensitive areas to spot any suspicious activity
• Verify identities and control access to secure areas
• React quickly to threats or incidents
• Check the proper functioning of alarms and cameras
• Document incidents and actions taken
• Respond to alarms and conduct on-site checks
• Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents
• Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent (GED)
• Ability to pass an extensive screening process, background check, and drug test
• Armed Security, Military, or Law Enforcement experience is required
• At least 21 years of age or older
• Armed Texas Security license (Commissioned) and meet additional requirements to carry a firearm as a security officer in Texas
• Must have a pistol, level 3 holster, 1 pair of handcuffs, 2 additional magazines with holsters, duty belt, and carriers
• First aid certification is an asset
• Ability to stand and walk for the entire shift
• Results of a passing MMPI test

Schedule

Set schedule: Wednesday 5 PM - 10 PM / Thursday 7 AM - 10 PM / Friday 7:30 AM - 5 PM (29.5 hours/part-time)

Pay

Competitive hourly wage of $22.00. DailyPay is available for GardaWorld employees.
