Job Summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring an Armed Security Officer for their Edgewood Security Team. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, 3rd shift.

Job Description

• Patrol Activity
• Directs visitors, patients and employees to appropriate locations
• Intervenes to prevent and control disturbances
• Customer Relations
• Provide way-finding and general assistance
• Offer clear communications in a courteous, professional manner
• Use appropriate de-escalation techniques in various situations
• Operations Center
• Monitor activity via closed circuit television
• Maintain and operate various alarm systems
• Handle radio and telephone communications effectively
• Training
• Complete mandatory training required by the department
• Complete additional trainings associated with firearms
• Successfully pass a Psychological Evaluation
• Perform weapons retention training
• Specialized Knowledge
• Successfully completed an accredited police academy firearms course
• Or a state approved concealed carry firearms course
• Or an approved firearms training program
• Or related military firearms training
• Education, Credentials, Licenses
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Applicable Criminal Justice experience OR Bachelor’s Degree
• Valid driver’s license and insurable by the Hospital insurance carrier
• Experience
• 6 months of SEH Security Officer experience OR
• Current Sworn Law Enforcement Officer experience OR
• Honorably discharged member of the Armed Forces
