Armed Security Officer Act 235

About the role

GardaWorld Security Services is now hiring an Armed Tactical Security Officer for a site located in Reading, PA 19611. The position requires an active Act 235 Certification and involves patrolling a hospital environment, verifying identities, controlling access, responding to alarms, and documenting incidents.

Responsibilities

• Read the environment and anticipate risk
• Movement around the entire shift, patrolling a hospital environment
• Spot suspicious activity and verify identities
• Control access to secure areas
• React quickly to threats or incidents
• Check the proper functioning of alarms and cameras
• Document incidents and actions taken
• Respond to alarms and conduct on-site checks
• Collaborate with law enforcement during serious incidents
• Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and property

Requirements

• Be 21 years old or older
• Have a High School Diploma or GED
• Have an ACT 235 Lethal Weapons Training Certification
• Currently have or be able to attain all necessary immunizations
• Provide personally owned duty weapon (9mm caliber handgun)
• Complete certification to carry an approved less-lethal alternative (OCAT-Path Certification - OC Spray)

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• First aid/CPR certification and IAHSS Basic Course is an asset
