Armed Protective Security Officers (PSO) - Charleston, SC

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• A United States citizen; or a Lawful Permanent Resident who is currently a member of, or who possesses a verifiable honorable discharge from, any component of the United States Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard)
• Been issued a Social Security Card by the Social Security Administration, which bears the individuals name and social security number
• Verifiable documentation of one experience and one education level listed below:
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience (armed) security experience or one (1) year of law enforcement experience in a full-duty status with a full-service police department in a municipality, state, or federal law enforcement department within the US.
• A minimum of two (2) years as a member of any US Armed Forces with an honorable discharge
• Received, at minimum, either a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) from an accredited institution of higher learning
• Fluently speak, read, comprehend English, and be able to compose written reports in English
• Strong relevant knowledge of the security industry
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to communicate effectively and present information to all levels of internal and external customers
• Trained and able to display proficiency in firearms (pistol), intermediate weapons (OC spray and expandable baton) and First Aid, CPR, AED

Physical Demands

• Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping up to twelve (12) hours per day, either indoors or outdoors
• Ability to remain on post up to four (4) consecutive hours without sitting, eating or receiving a break
• Ability to remain alert for up to 12 hours, with ability to mentally and physically react quickly to a variety of unexpected and dangerous situations
