Area Superintendent - Hydronics
About the role
This position oversees the operations, strategic planning, and personnel management of General Forepersons, Truck Forepersons, and Forepersons within the hydronic trades of the assigned area. It involves leading and managing hydronic field activities, ensuring standards and productivity, and providing guidance to direct reports.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all hydronic field activities to ensure standards and productivity are met in an effort to achieve company goals.
- Operate as a resource manager for direct reports.
- Select and assign Forepersons based on project needs.
- Develop and execute project execution strategies and schedules.
- Prepare and present weekly project progress, health, and safety reports.
- Resolve issues, challenges, and obstacles related to project execution.
- Implement Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) protocols and ACCO policies and procedures.
- Plan for successful project installations through job walks and coordination with Project Managers.
- Review project documents to determine staffing requirements and assign field supervision and labor.
- Evaluate and advise on means and methods of continuous improvement to increase efficiency and meet project goals.
- Monitor and advise on quality control measures to ensure high-quality output.
- Engage with labor relations representatives to create and foster meaningful, long-term relationships that support company goals, including defending and resolving labor disputes.
Requirements
- Strong industry knowledge and experience in the hydronic trades (piping, process piping, plumbing, site-utilities start-up).
- Excellent leadership skills, including honesty, integrity, patience, empathy, and a strong work ethic.
- Effective communication at all levels of the business.
- Experience and deep understanding of construction leading projects.
- Member of the local hydronics union in good standing.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, Adobe, ProCore, Bluebeam, and Box.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of local quality, occupational safety, and health regulations for construction job sites.
- Preferred but not required: Member/affiliate of local apprenticeship training programs, Degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or architecture, Experience in remote training software and technologies used within best-in-class organizations, Software experience: CRM/PM Platforms: Bidtracer, Collaboration: Smartsheet, Slack, Revitzio, PlanGrid, Design/Detailing: Autodesk AEC, Collection (Revit, AutoCAD, Assemble, Navisworks), Spooling: MSuite Bimpro, Fabrication: MSuite FabPro, Fluent in Spanish.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in Construction leading projects.
- Member of the local hydronics union in good standing.
- Experience with the various business and corporate software technologies ACCO utilizes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Pay
The position is for signatory employees and wages will be in alignment with the current Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Schedule
Travel 75-90% of the time to and from the primary office to job sites and regional branch offices.
