Area Medical Director
About the role
At MedCap Health, the Area Medical Director role is designed for someone who can lead and mentor NPs and PAs across growing consult services. Key responsibilities include:
- Guiding NPs and PAs through structured onboarding
- Mentoring clinical decision-making
- Collaborating with physician specialists
- Monitoring quality metrics
- Refining protocols
- Implementing audit tools
- Coeordinating schedules and consult distribution
- Partnering with DONs and administrators
- Ensuring consult services deliver consistent, high-quality care
Responsibilities
As Regional Clinical Director, you will:
- Develop and implement robust onboarding programs
- Lead educational initiatives
- Create an environment that fosters clinician growth and satisfaction
- Build and lead NPP teams
- Ensure compliance with CMS regulations and documentation standards
- Implement value-based care strategies
- Utilize EHR systems, dashboards, and care coordination platforms
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must:
- Hold a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- Have an active Nurse Practitioner license in good standing (multi-state preferred)
- Have at least 10 years of NP experience in PALTC, SNF, or LTACH settings
- Have at least 5 years of experience in leadership, education, or program development
- Have a clinical background in cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology, or infectious disease
- Have proven success in building and leading NPP teams
- Have strong knowledge of CMS regulations, documentation standards, and value-based care
- Be proficient with EHR systems, dashboards, and care coordination platforms
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- A Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
