Area Manager, SSD SNC2- Huntersville, NC
About the role
Our Worldwide Operations network delivers millions of packages and smiles to Amazon customers every day. As an Area Manager, you will lead a team of hourly employees, engaging them during shifts to maintain safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You will ensure customer orders are delivered on time and to the right location. Our operations workflow includes:
- First mile – where products are housed and ready for order
- Middle mile – where orders are transported to your area
- Last mile – when products are delivered to the customer’s door
Rapid and Rural Logistics (R2L) specializes in innovating the last-mile customer experience, combining operations and support teams to build the future of delivery.
Responsibilities
- Support, mentor, and motivate your team
- Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises
- Collaborate with support teams (Safety, Ops Integration, Loss Prevention, Human Resources) to meet business objectives
- Lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk for shifts up to 12 hours, and perform physical tasks (pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, climbing stairs)
- Work in variable environments (noise levels, temperatures, weather; includes refrigerated and outdoor areas)
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekends and/or overnight shifts
Requirements
- 2+ years of employee and performance management experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques
Pay
Base salary range: $70,000 – $90,900 USD annually (location: Huntersville, NC).
Additional compensation may include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and location.
