Area Manager

Responsible for increasing market share, controlling fleet, meeting and exceeding profitability targets, reaching customer service goals, and training and developing your team. Oversees customer and employee relations for Hertz Local Edition locations, including Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty brands.

Responsibilities

• Achieve operational goals, revenue goals, and financial objectives as stated in annual business planning.
• Ensure unparalleled customer satisfaction.
• Develop and implement local sales and marketing initiatives.
• Train and develop all location employees.
• Ensure efficient utilization and effective control of vehicle inventory.
• Inspire staff members to reach high goals and encourage open discussion for improving performance.
• Create an "Ownership" culture with a focus on sales and customer service.
• Challenge, encourage, and develop employees to reach their potential.
• Maintain effective employee staffing.
• Achieve fleet utilization and out-of-service goals.
• Manage required administrative tasks, controls, and reports.
• Remain current on all administrative duties according to company policy.
• Provide specific performance feedback to each employee semi-annually and annually.
• Complete sales calls with branch staff to develop employees, increase market penetration, and boost revenue.
• Ensure all corporate policies and procedures are followed appropriately by all personnel.
• Role model leadership skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of management experience in a customer-focused environment preferred.
• Previous car rental industry experience preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locations.
• Strong ability to influence and build relationships.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to interact effectively at multiple levels.
• Commitment to continuous improvement.
• Some knowledge of employment and labor laws.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven sales ability.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong relationship-building skills.
• Ability to develop and lead high-performing teams.

$75,000 per year.
