About the role
The position involves coordinating and supervising maintenance activities, scheduling efficient operations, and overseeing various systems including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.
Responsibilities
- Manages and directs superintendents to manage equipment and personnel across projects.
- Schedules and maintains efficient operations such as line speed, controlling downtime, and managing electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Assigns tasks to technical employees and oversees their work.
- Updates inventory and ensures availability of necessary materials.
- Supervises installation, inspections, repairs, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related production systems.
- Directs and manages superintendents, encouraging training to enhance competency and commitment.
- Maintains and repairs all production facility equipment to minimize downtime.
- Ensures adequate staffing levels are maintained.
- Reports on maintenance, repairs, installations, inspections, and repairs.
- Communicates and enforces safety protocols and knowledge of occupational hazards.
- Enforces goal zero throughout the facility.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant maintenance field preferred, or equivalent technical degree/training and/or relevant certifications in Electrical (Master's), Refrigerations (RETA level 4), and/or CIRO (Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator).
- At least 5 years of demonstrated utility management experience in a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record in managing shifts or operations, preferably in poultry processing.
- Knowledgeable in first processing operations from receiving through evisceration.
- Performance-driven and accountable.
