Area Leader (Manager) Trainee

About the role

The Area Leader Trainee – Retail Sales position oversees 12‑14 store locations, training store leaders to deliver exceptional customer service. Participants join a 12‑month in‑depth training program that prepares them for a key operational role with strong career‑growth potential. Successful trainees may receive a company vehicle for business use when appointed to manage a district.

Responsibilities

• Staff, train, and supervise Store Leaders.
• Implement merchandising programs, control cash and inventory, and promote excellent customer service.
• Motivate teams, build camaraderie, and drive performance.
• Manage profit and loss, including budget planning, maximizing sales, and controlling expenses.
• Set performance goals and objectives, and monitor results with upper management.

Requirements

• A 4‑year degree from an accredited college or university in a related field or 5+ years of experience managing district or regional operations for retail/commercial, or a large single commercial store with multiple managers and 100+ employees.
• A valid driver’s license from the state of residence, with automotive liability insurance maintained during employment.
• Ability to multi‑task, be self‑motivated, and perform repeated bending, standing, reaching, and occasional lifting up to 50 lb.

Qualifications

• Previous multi‑unit management experience is preferred.
• Strong focus on profit and loss management, budgeting, and expense control.
• Excellent communication, team‑building, and customer‑service leadership skills.
