Area Leader

Location: Scottsville, KY

Work Arrangements: 100% on‑site. Willingness to work off‑shift (including nights, weekends, and/or holidays) and “flow to the work” as needed.

Responsibilities

• Champion the department’s daily plan and follow through on open items needed by the team.
• Participate in the department Daily Direction Setting (DDS) meetings.
• Accountable for daily operations and team performance (Safety, Quality, Reliability, Cost, Organizational Capability).
• Model Basic Beliefs, Commitment to Each Other, and Emotional Intelligence to build resonance.
• Work with operating teams to address safety concerns and assist in resolution.
• Drive department issues to root cause and develop a zero‑loss, continuous‑improvement culture.
• Manage performance, staffing strategy, and develop a “flow to the work” culture.
• Partner with the Manager to develop and deliver the Department Master Plan.
• Ensure essential business information and expectations are clearly communicated and understood by all team members.
• Develop and coach operational and leadership skills to enhance peak performance through work systems and Operational Excellence tools.
• Assist in developing and executing key technical and organizational projects.
• Collaborate across all work‑system pillars and leadership functions.
• Act as the technical resource for operating teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (engineering preferred).
• At least 2 years of manufacturing operational experience.
• Experience coaching, developing, and leading others.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Project planning experience.
• Prior experience managing people and/or teams in a high‑performance work environment.
