About the role
The Area General Manager (AGM) leads Weyerhaeuser's growing Distribution business. The role involves managing the inside and outside area sales and operations teams, driving profitability, and maintaining key customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and general management of the inside and outside area sales and operations teams.
- Works closely with the site operations manager and finance partner to ensure profitability.
- Motivates and energizes sales and operations teams.
- Develops and executes a 5-year business plan (Roadmap).
- Maintains and grows key relationships with strategic customers.
- Owns all aspects of the facility including safety, sales, logistics, community volunteer activity, etc.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of related industry experience (e.g. Distribution, Manufacturing, Wholesale, etc.).
- At least 5 years of experience in a people management role.
- Must live or be willing to relocate to San Antonio area, and be willing to travel up to 35% including both day and overnight travel.
- Proven team leadership ability to develop organizational capacity, coach and develop associates, successfully motivate, and energize sales and operations teams, and create an inclusive culture.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to interpret and manage financial and market data.
- Excellent communication skills including information sharing, active listening, brevity, and persuasiveness.
- Experience and ability to develop, translate and implement strategic plans, think long term and “big picture,” integrating complexities in problem solving and decision making.
- Proven ability to establish credibility and trust in relationships with customers, associates and suppliers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business or related field.
- Strong market and product knowledge and ability to integrate critical market intelligence (competition, trends, etc.) in order to grow the market.
- Industry sales and/or operations management experience, strongly preferred.
Skills
Leadership, team management, strategic planning, customer service, financial analysis, communication, and market intelligence.
