Full-time, benefits-eligible position with 40 hours per week. Schedule includes Monday through Friday day shifts, with 24/7 operational responsibility for Alleghany Memorial Hospital, Hugh Chatham Medical Center, and Wilkes Medical Center.
Pay range: $68.20 - $102.30 per hour.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Master's degree in Nursing, Health Care Management, or Business Administration required.
- Doctorate in Nursing (DNP/PhD) preferred; DNP preferred over PhD.
- Five years of experience in relevant nursing areas with management or supervisory experience in an academic medical center or tertiary hospital setting required.
- Current RN license in good standing in the applicable state.
- Certification in administration or clinical specialty within one year of hire.
Responsibilities
- Exemplify Wake Forest Baptist Health (WFBH) Values and Code of Conduct; identify compliance risks and report violations to Legal Services and Corporate Compliance.
- Ensure immediate action on compliance issues, policy development/revision, and a compliant work environment.
- Demonstrate leadership in clinical competence, nursing practice standards, human resources, financial management, planning, directing, and continuous quality improvement.
- Provide leadership in human resource development, recruitment, retention, and mentorship of future nurse administrators and clinical leaders.
- Plan, develop, and implement operational and capital budgets; identify areas of need and make recommendations.
- Review and plan departmental goals aligned with institutional objectives; monitor fiscal performance and corrective action plans.
- Assist in creating long-range strategic plans with System CNE, entity CNO, and Medical Directors.
- Participate in organization-wide performance improvement, Board of Trustees, and Medical Executive Committees.
- Oversee clinical programs, quality assurance, research, and educational activities for designated departments.
- Develop policies and procedures affecting clinical practice in collaboration with medical and administrative colleagues.
- Promote Professional Governance and continuous quality improvement with quality indicators.
- Maintain compliance with hospital, regulatory, and Joint Commission guidelines.
- Build collaborative partnerships within and outside the institution, including other CNOs, medical staff, and community agencies.
- Partner with Finance and other groups to ensure smooth delivery of key deliverables.
- Participate in committees, councils, and efforts to improve patient satisfaction.
- Manage resources, environment, and clinical practice of nursing; ensure organizational commitment and ethical behavior.
- Oversee all aspects of nursing and clinical care; maintain confidentiality and promote professional growth.
- Work closely with direct reports and nursing staff to ensure sufficient resources for high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Assist in supervision, interviewing, and selection of new staff members.
- Coordinate operational planning, systems assessment, program development, and information management across the WFBH system.

Physical Requirements
