Responsibilities
- Grow market share of the business travel accounts through external and internal sales efforts with the purpose of securing business for the hotel in order to ensure that predetermined revenue expectations are met or exceeded.
- Develop and nurture relationships with Travel Managers, Travel Agents and Hotel Chain National Sales Representatives.
- Grow market share for the luxury consortia’s and maximize all sales efforts to increase customer base for these preferred accounts.
- Research demand generators in the local market. Utilize Hotelligence and STR reports to identify and secure opportunity accounts as well as to monitor the conditions of the market.
- Effectively balance all of the core direct sales disciplines: prospecting, solicitation, rate quoting, contracting, outside sales calls, site inspections, client entertainment, outside presentations, marketing to in-house guests, networking.
- Attend industry events and trade shows.
- Track account volume production and discuss status with the top customers on a monthly basis.
- Develop and follow Strategic Plans and Actions that support the goal of growing existing accounts, moving market share from the competition, and identifying and securing new accounts.
- Report market segment status and tactics to the Strategy Team on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Respond promptly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Communicate effectively with operational departments. Facilitate special events for existing and prospective accounts.
- Prepare a month end recap report for the revenue team.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding and competence in sales, account management functions and the hotel/business travel industry.
- Manage current accounts, ensure proper solicitation of all transient markets, and may include travel to major cities within market.
- Have Hyatt sales experience preferred with working knowledge of system.
- Have a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of corporate hotel sales in a Full-Service Luxury property.
- Be proficient in general computer knowledge.
- Possess selling, negotiating, business writing and presentation skills training.
- Have community involvement and/or professional association.
- Communicate in English (speak, read, write) with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.
- Have the ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
- Have punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.
