Area Director of Marketing
Located in the heart of Aspen, Hotel Jerome, Auberge Collection, is a 135-year-old historic landmark listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The hotel offers luxurious, contemporary accommodations and modern amenities that honor its iconic mountain spirit, including two residential penthouses, the legendary J-Bar, Michelin Guide-recommended Prospect, the Living Room bar and lounge, Bad Harriet speakeasy, Yarrow spa, state-of-the-art fitness facilities, a ski concierge, and a heated outdoor pool and hot tub overlooking Aspen Mountain.
About the role
As the Area Director of Marketing, you will develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communication strategies across Hotel Jerome (Aspen, CO), Madeline Hotel & Residences (Telluride, CO), and Element 52 (Telluride, CO). This role drives brand awareness, positioning, and business objectives while ensuring each property maintains its unique identity and connection to its destination. The position is in-market, property-based, and part of the Executive Committee, requiring regular travel between Aspen and Telluride.
The targeted compensation range for this full-time, year-round, exempt position is $175,000–$200,000/year, with a competitive compensation package offered by Auberge Collection.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Commercial Leadership
- Develop and lead annual marketing strategies and budgets across all three properties to deliver revenue goals, brand positioning, and market opportunities.
- Leverage customer and property-level data (ADR, occupancy, need periods, market mix) to create targeted marketing objectives and measurable 360 tactics across awareness, demand, retention, and key business drivers.
- Partner with Revenue Management and Sales to drive demand and optimize performance.
- Manage marketing budgets and allocate investment to maximize ROI and measurable business impact.
- Brand Positioning & Partnerships
- Lead the development and execution of marketing strategies that reinforce each property’s unique luxury positioning, identity, and sense of place.
- Serve as brand guardian, ensuring Auberge Collection and each property’s positioning are consistently and authentically embodied across guest-facing touchpoints.
- Oversee holistic content strategy and storytelling across all channels, ensuring elevated execution and brand alignment.
- Lead creative asset development (photography, video, copy, visual identity, collateral) to maintain a consistent and elevated voice.
- Concept and manage strategic partnerships across culinary, fashion, wellness, art, design, lifestyle, and culture to strengthen brand equity and drive incremental demand.
- Elevate each property’s epicurean positioning through compelling storytelling, programming, events, and collaborations with culinary and beverage leaders.
- Monitor industry trends, cultural movements, and competitor activity to inform strategy and maintain brand relevance.
- Integrated 360 Marketing
- Develop and lead integrated marketing strategies and campaigns across digital, paid media, social, PR, partnerships, CRM, and on-property channels.
- Ensure channel strategies are cohesive and aligned with each property’s positioning and commercial priorities.
- Lead social media strategy and content creation, ensuring platforms reflect each property while maintaining Auberge Collection brand standards.
- PR & Communications
- Oversee public relations and influencer marketing, including agency partnerships, influencer collaborations, media stays, and strategic storytelling.
- Cultivate relationships with media, tastemakers, community partners, and key stakeholders in Aspen, Telluride, and priority luxury markets.
- Performance & Digital Marketing
- Drive audience growth, engagement, and conversion through data-informed marketing initiatives.
- Track and analyze campaign and channel performance using data and insights to optimize strategy and investment.
- Partner with digital performance teams and external agencies to optimize paid media strategy, audience targeting, and campaign effectiveness.
- Oversee digital advertising across paid search, paid social, and programmatic channels to support commercial priorities and demand generation.
- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as a key member of the properties’ Executive Committees, contributing to overall business strategy and planning.
- Foster collaboration across Operations, Revenue, Sales, F&B, and Experience teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution.
- Lead and develop the area marketing team.
- Approve key guest-facing marketing touchpoints to ensure a consistent and elevated brand experience.
- Present marketing strategy, performance, and key initiatives to property leadership, corporate teams, and ownership stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 8–10+ years of experience developing and executing integrated marketing strategies within luxury hospitality, lifestyle, fashion, design, or premium consumer brands.
- Strong experience managing multi-channel marketing ecosystems (digital, paid media, PR, social, content, CRM, partnerships).
- Proven track record of developing culturally relevant marketing campaigns and integrated 360 strategies that strengthen brand positioning and drive measurable business performance.
- Experience leading creative campaign development, public relations initiatives, strategic partnerships, and high-profile brand events.
- Strong business and financial acumen, with fluency in performance metrics, ROI, and hospitality demand drivers (ADR, occupancy, market mix).
- Expertise in tracking, analyzing, and optimizing marketing performance across digital platforms.
- Refined understanding of luxury style, design, brand nuance, and guest experience, with the ability to translate brand vision into distinctive property-level expressions.
- Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams, cross-functional stakeholders, external agencies, and strategic partners.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a high degree of initiative, ownership, and self-direction, capable of operating effectively in a dynamic multi-property environment.
- Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior leadership, ownership, and cross-functional stakeholders.
