About the role
As a frontline leader, you’ll play a key role in keeping operations safe, efficient, and reliable—while developing your team and making a real impact on continuous improvement. Your work directly supports the production of sustainable, wood-derived materials used in critical applications—from cleaner air in vehicles to cleaner water.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations by setting clear direction, reviewing priorities, and walking the process to ensure safe, efficient performance
- Proactively identify and address safety risks through regular inspections and team engagement
- Partner with engineering to improve equipment reliability, production efficiency, and product quality
- Train and develop operators—helping new team members get up to speed and ensuring everyone is confident with new processes and equipment
- Monitor process performance and trends, taking action to resolve safety, environmental, or quality concerns
- Support and coach your team through troubleshooting and problem-solving to keep production on track
- Provide day-to-day leadership for hourly team members, including feedback, coaching, and performance management
- Cook up and coordinate maintenance activities to keep equipment running safely and reliably
- Ensure all safety systems are followed, including LOTO and work permitting processes
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent (a technical degree is a plus)
- At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment; prior leadership or supervisory experience is helpful
- Comfort using computers for tasks like data entry, reporting, and document creation
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions and lead others through challenges
- Experience training or mentoring others and helping teams succeed
- A working understanding of maintenance practices (mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation)
- A knowledge of safety, health, and environmental practices—and a commitment to doing things the right way
Qualifications
- Physical requirements: Stay active in this role—climb stairs and ladders, work at heights, and be on your feet for extended periods. Ability to stand or sit for up to 12-hour shifts. Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, etc.).
- Work environment: Split your time between the plant floor and office work (roughly 50/50), giving you a balance of hands-on and administrative responsibilities. Work in an industrial setting around large equipment and moving machinery. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where collaboration and communication are key.

Schedule
Shifts are typically 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with some weekend work required.
