About the Role
This position supervises a team of 10 or more seasonal employees and oversees multiple warehouse processes (picking, oversize, shipping, recoup, packing, or work areas such as CYO, Assembly, PODS) within assigned areas.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all labor and processes within the assigned work area.
- Provide day-to-day direction to seasonal staff and assist in training processes, serving as the first point of contact for associate questions and concerns.
- Track and review productivity to ensure goals, deadlines, and outputs are met.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and quality standards (including GMPs) are followed.
- Maintain appropriate product receipt, storage, picking, packaging, and shipping procedures for the assigned team.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Provide constructive and timely feedback to associates on performance and productivity.
- Conduct start-up meetings for the department as needed.
- Assist in updating and documenting procedural changes, ensuring proficiency in all department functions.
- Foster a respectful team environment to positively impact retention through professional communication, motivation, and problem resolution.
- Maintain and support safety programs, addressing safety issues and ensuring proper equipment usage.
- Coordinate workflow using WMS, assigning work tasks (e.g., replenishment, picking, full pallet pulls) via hand-held scanners.
- Coordinate material moves through two systems to ensure the right part reaches the right line at the right time.
- Assist in developing and delivering performance reviews (PDRs) and performance improvement actions (PIAs) for direct reports.
- Proactively address operational bottlenecks and demonstrate proficiency in system-related functions.
- Maintain close communication with Shipping Working Supervisors, Fulfillment Support Supervisors, Coordinators, and Trainers to ensure smooth product flow and problem resolution.
- Report shortages, trends, and issues proactively to prevent potential problems.
- Ensure compliance with all department procedures and standards.
- Work on the floor in a production role during non-peak periods, performing manual labor as required.
- Perform pre-stretching exercises (5-10 minutes) before shifts.
- Perform other duties and work in other departments as assigned.
