Arctic Club Hotel - Bartender
POSITION SUMMARY
The Bartender at one of Oxford’s luxury or boutique-style hotels is responsible for crafting and serving high-quality cocktails and beverages while delivering exceptional guest experiences in a sophisticated hotel setting. This role requires strong knowledge of mixology, fine spirits, and wine, along with the ability to engage guests with professionalism, warmth, and personalized service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and serve premium cocktails, wine, and other beverages with precision and consistency
Follow standardized recipes while incorporating creativity for signature drinks
Provide knowledgeable recommendations on cocktails, wine pairings, and spirits based on guest preferences
Maintain consistent beverage presentation, portion control, and garnishing standards that reflect the hotel’s upscale environment
Input orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served
Display knowledge of liquor laws, maintain the attractive presentation and sanitize all areas at least once daily, make suggestions for the reception and drink menus
Bus and clean tables after guest use
Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures
Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations
Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager
Greet all guests warmly and provide attentive, knowledgeable service as they enter the lounge, offering thoughtful drink and food recommendations in alignment with Oxford Collection’s elevated service standards
Monitor guest behavior to ensure responsible alcohol service and compliance with legal drinking age requirements; check identification for guests appearing under the age of 26
Detect and act on customer inebriation, as trained
Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with both internal and external guests
Communicate effectively with all hotel staff to ensure smooth delivery of services
Lock up and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposit cash drops and secures bank
Complete a daily activity log with pertinent shift information for co-workers and leadership team
Coverage of other hotel related duties as assigned

Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Hospitality / hotel work experience preferred
Previous bartending experience preferred
Food handler’s license and liquor server permits as required by state law (or ability to obtain)
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
Reliable transportation to and from work
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays

Physical Requirements – Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently
Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects
Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
Must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions
