Archival Intern

About the role

The Archival Intern supports the Vilcek Foundation’s archive in preserving and providing public and internal access to organizational records and ephemera through digitizing and cataloging efforts. This position will provide creative and technical support related to scanning, metadata entry, and archival material handling.

Qualifications

• Current master’s graduate student or recent graduate in Library Science, Art History, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong interest in arts, culture, immigration, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector
• Excellent written communication skills with attention to tone and institutional voice
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• The candidate must be authorized to work in the United States

Skills

• Knowledge of archival theory preferred
• Knowledge of digital asset management systems preferred
• Experience with finding aids preferred
• Experience handling archival material preferred
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Drive, Sheets)
• Comfort working in a Mac-based environment
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs

Pay

$30/hour
