About the role

We are seeking a Studio Principal with a positive, collaborative work style, who will lead our Community Studio in Charleston, SC.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Community Studio as the Studio Principal and part of our firm wide Corporate Leadership team.
  • Work with the Office President, and our Community Practice Leader to create a long-term strategic plan to grow the Studio and client mix.
  • Assume leadership of our existing body of work with strong clients, and a team of talented architects working on clinical projects.
  • Have a high degree of autonomy and responsibility for your Studio.
  • Be directly involved with our clients and their goals from the start.
  • Enjoy a position of leadership in our Charleston, SC office.

Requirements

  • Registered Architect.
  • 10+ years of experience in the Community (K-12, Higher Education or Civic/Justic) architecture & design industry.
  • Experience as an account or client manager, including financial management.
  • Experience managing a team of people.

Qualifications

  • A passion for Community (K-12, Higher Ed, and /or Civic/Justice) based projects and design and for impacting the local community.
  • A strong track record of developing new business and currently have relationships with Community based clients.
  • A collaborative in your work-style, always looking for a new way to do things.
  • A great communicator – whether verbally or in written form, people understand your ideas, and the way you share them.
  • A good mentor – the people that you work with feel that you have their best interests at heart.
  • An extensive background in community projects.
  • A resourceful and creative problem solver, and you are motivated and energetic.
  • An interest in the drivers and ideas impacting the current and future Community industry.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
