Architectural Drafter/Engineer

About the role

Ameriscan Designs is an American-based millwork construction company specializing in architectural millwork, custom cabinetry, plastic laminates, complex solid-surface fabrication, architectural doors and frames, metals, glass, stone, and upholstery. Our manufacturing philosophy is to build everything on-site to control quality and offer the shortest lead-time in the industry.

This position is primarily responsible for creating shop drawings (in AutoCAD/Microvellum) to submit to the customer (General Contractor & Architect) and using these drawings to program products manufactured by Ameriscan Designs shop employees.

Schedule

6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Responsibilities

• Read and understand architectural drawings
• Create architectural submittal drawings
• Draw from scratch quality, accurate 2D and 3D drawings and models
• Demonstrate an understanding of cabinetry construction and terminology
• Work daily in a team-based environment
• Follow all company safety protocols
• Follow complex directions and incorporate redline revisions into shop drawing submittals
• Communicate clearly, concisely, and specifically any and all details of the work

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred and 2+ years of related experience
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from project managers
• Experience with Microvellum, AutoCAD drafting, architectural millwork drafting
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of woodworking standards and materials
• Familiar with AWI standards
• CNC programming and CNC machine capabilities
